Sagrada Familia

Sagrada Familia is the most amazing church I have ever seen in my entire life. When you look at it, it feels like you have stepped into a fairy tale. Photos can not even depict half of the beauty radiating from it. The nativity scene, covering the side of the church as so much detail and beauty it is hard to decide where to look.

We booked an audio tour the night before, which we were thankful for since the line just to get tickets was approximately 3 hours long. Booking the audio tour was the best thing we could have done even thought it was 19.30 euros each. It explained in such great detail why and how Antoni Gaudi designed the building. I cannot believe all of the thought that went into creating such a wonderful work of art. Antoni Gaudi thought of everything and made all of the boring structural issues into beautiful creations. The pillars holding up the roof and many towers all look like trees with branches while each one is designed in a different type of stone based on the amount of weight it must hold up. The ceiling is covered in leaves which distributes lights and sounds throughout the large room.

We spent more than 2 hours just walking around the building in awe. One of the coolest things he heard about was how Gaudi chose different styles for different scenes such as the nativity and crucifixion scene in order to evoke different emotions. It worked because I totally hated the harshness of the crucifixion wall.

Here are some of the many photos we took, but honestly these photos do not do it any justice!
